Full Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our growing IT team in a Front End Developer role.

This role is based in our offices in Dean Clough, Halifax, and you must be able to commute to this location.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Maintaining and producing new features across multiple brands.
  • Carrying out regular Pagespeed and Core Web Vital checks and providing fixes based on the results.
  • Regularly review the websites to ensure a good customer experience.
  • Assist in the production of new website pages.
  • Using analytics to make decisions and changes to the functionality and design of the websites.
  • Collaborate with other team members and back-end developers.
  • Work closely with the internal marketing department to understand briefs and bring them to life.

Essential Skills

  • A strong understanding of HTML and modern CSS (e.g. Flexbox)
  • Basic knowledge of PHP 7
  • Previous experience writing custom JavaScript/jQuery
  • A good understanding of building reusable components
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience working to deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good understanding of UI/UX including responsive website design
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in a close-knit team
